#NigeriaDecides - Initial 2015 Presidential Election Results Are Probably Fake

Posted in: , , ,

Using the #NigeriaDecides hashtag for wider reach, the official INEC Nigeria Twitter account has warned that no announcements for the 2015 Presidential Election Results be made by any third parties. However, their threat has not stopped some sites from releasing unverified and probably cooked up and fake results for the elections which just held yesterday.

While it is very likely that most results from polling stations have been counted, I find it stretching credulity that LG level and State level results could have been collated overnight. It is probably advisable for all to wait till INEC to release final results in 48 hrs as they promised. APC may find themselves to be rejoicing too soon if they go by these results below...

Man Keeps Baby With Down Syndrome After Wife Abandoned Them

Posted in: , , ,

Samuel Forrest is from New Zealand but works and lives in Armenia, and his wife is also from Armenia. The couple recently had a baby and Sam was surprised when the baby was taken out of his wife's room soon after the birth. Hospital authorities wouldn't let the new dad see the baby or his wife  as was the custom in the country's hospitals when a child is born with Down's Syndrome.

Samuel did not understand all this until several minutes later when he was finally able to follow doctors and nurses into a room to meet his baby. That was when they told him that his son, whom he has now named Leo, had Down syndrome. Though the new dad had a few moments of shock, he got over it and when he held Leo for the very first time, he said, "he's beautiful -- he's perfect and I'm absolutely keeping him."

Australian Man Mocks Nigerians About Ebola With Tweets Of Fake $10,000 Scam

Posted in: , , ,

An Australian man named Andrew Sayer has gone on Twitter to mock Nigerians about Ebola in the country, with a fabricated story about giving $10,000 to his Nigerian friend Oghenekohwo whom he says he is now looking for.

Andrew Sayer says Oghenekohwo is yet to reply his e-mails, adding that since his friend has gone off the radar, he fears that this friend of his, whom he says lives in Port Harcourt, may have contracted the deadly Ebola virus.

Andrew then scam baits wannabe 419ers by saying he plans to send more money to this friend whenever he responds. Read the tweets below, and share your thoughts...

What I find galling and also sad is that Nigerians on social media did not immediately see through this spoof. The conversation on blogs and Twitter seem to tilt to believing this foolish story and consoling Andrew Sayer for having been duped of his hard earned money by a Nigerian scammer.
